Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher, and “Practicing Human”, Cory Muscara (“The Person You Want to Be” – Ep. 22)

From the monastery to the podcastery, Cory Muscara

As a college student, Cory Muscara was headed toward a career in business/finance.

One day, however, he had an experience that stopped him in his tracks and made him question not only his career path but the point of life itself.

Around the same time, he stumbled into experimenting with meditation.

This eventually led to a serious deep dive in which he meditated for 14 hours every day for over six months straight in a Buddhist monastery in Burma.

When he returned home, he had to figure out how to integrate all he had learned into the myriad challenges and complexities of everyday life in the modern world.

Cory is the author of Stop Missing Your Life: How to be Deeply Present in an Un-Present World, and host of the podcast Practicing Human.

He has a knack for sharing wisdom teachings in a practical and accessible way.
